final model

In this model i have used 4 unique materials, which i have created myself. For the outside of the building i have used my sectional drawing of 'concrete', for the inside walls on the bottom level i have used my sectioal drawing of 'absorbent'.

I beleived these sections to be approprate materials as the structure itself is to be made out of a strong, elegant material, hence concrete. The bottom level is designed to be a place where people can be undisturbed, and 'absorb' everything they see, which is why i have used my section of 'absorbent'.

the other two materials i used were grass and wooden floorboards. taking a picture of the grass i then uploaded it to the computer, where i could use it as a material to cover the landscape. The floorboards were used on both sets of stairs within the model.

The two words which i have based my model around were 'aboriginal' and 'art'. I believe the strong connection with the land surrounding it, which is demonsrated by my model, expresses the qualities and beliefs behind the word 'aboriginal'. The aborignial people use many intricate shapes withing their own artworks, and this is why i have chosen my model to be as it is. The word 'art' just ties together the qualities of 'aboringal' inconjunction with my final model.
